Blume-Mosas

Cheers to brunching with Blume Honey Water! Just three simple ingredients mixed to your liking:

- Collefrisio Le Cave Brut Sparkling Wine
- Wild Blueberry Blume Honey Water
- Thyme and Star Anise Maple Simple Syrup

 

Simple Syrup Recipe:

- 1 cup Rivendale Maple Syrup
- 1/2 cup Water
- 1/4 cup Fresh Thyme
- 1/4 cup Fresh Star Anise

Cook ingredients down in a saucepan on low to medium heat for 45 minutes, stirring occasionally, to steep. Add 1/4 cup brown sugar and boil for 30 seconds and remove from heat. Let syrup cool overnight.

Blume-ing Block Party 

Market Street Grocery stirred these up for their Block Party. Kick back and enjoy it at home to relive the fun. 

- 2 oz Big Spring Vodka
- 4 oz  Wild Blueberry Blume Honey Water
- .5 oz Basil Simple Syrup
- Garnish with Lemon Slice

The "Peony Party"

Bring the garden to your party and toast Mom before dinner with this floral delight!

To make: 
- 6oz of Blume's Vanilla Citrus
- 2 oz Three Meadows Spirits Peony Vodka
- 1/2 Tsp of Crude Bitters, Bitterless Marriage

The cocktail tastes lighter when poured over ice and a little more like an aperitif served cold without ice. Your choice! Another option: paint the glass rim with honey to sweeten each sip. Peonies are edible, so you can get creative in using them to garnish your sipping experience. 

Decorate: Your table with Peonies to bring the whole experience together. 

Makes 2 Servings depending on glass size.

Mix up our July Cocktail to sip in the summer sun. 

- 1.5 oz Bar Hill Honey Gin
- 1.5 oz Cointreau
- 1.5 oz St. Germain
- 1.5 oz Lemon Juice
- Vanilla Citrus Blume Honey Water

The Crazy Carrot Cocktail 

This is the most fun way to celebrate Earth Day and every day! We love our vodka choice for this elixir because it's made from a beet sugar base and has lovely floral tones. Turmeric brightens the overall color.

To make: 
- 10 oz of Blume's Ginger Zest (1 bottle) 
- 4 oz Fresh Carrot Juice
- 2 oz Industry Standard Vodka
- 1/8th tsp Turmeric 

Blend chilled ingredients and pour over rocks or directly into the glass

Garnish: With nasturtiums. They hook onto the glass so easily and they're beautiful. 

Makes 2-3 Servings depending on glass size. 
This drink abounds with earthly delights!

Very Violet Cocktail

The essence of June

To make: 
- 6 oz of Vanilla Citrus (1 bottle) 
- 3.5 tsp Giffard, Creme de Violette
- 2 oz Fair Vodka
- 1.5 oz Water
- 1/4 tsp Bitter Tears, Hibiscus Rose

Blend chilled ingredients drink neat or pour over rocks directly into the glass.

Garnish: With violets, of course! 

Makes 2 Servings depending on glass size. 
Stop. Smell. Sip. Drink in all of this Summertime goodness!

Blume's Rosemary Sparkler Cocktail 

Wake up your taste buds with this tingly teaser.  

To make: Pour ingredients into a cocktail shaker filled with ice: 
- 6 oz of Blume's Ginger Zest
- 3 oz Crop Organic Vodka Meyer Lemon
- 1-2 tsp of clear Vermouth
- 1 Sprig of fresh Rosemary

Shake for 20-25 seconds until combined. Strain into a glass, top off with 3 oz. Club Soda.

Garnish: With lemon slice and a blossoming Rosemary Sprig. 

Makes 1 Serving depending on glass size.

Blume's Love-at-first-Blush Potion

With this little elixir we encourage you to whisper sweet nothings in your love's ear all month long.

To make: 

Pour ingredients into a pretty pitcher and stir.
- 12 oz of Blume Vanilla Citrus
- 4 oz Wolffer Estate Pink Gin
   (we love it's floral nose and lovely color)
- 2 Tsp Campari
- 4 oz Club Soda

Serve very cold. 

Garnish: 

While you can use any fruit your heart desires. strawberries have their own natural heart shape and beautiful color so they work perfectly here.

Makes 2 Servings depending on glass size.

 The Blume smoothie

Blume's Blueberry Blast Smoothie

Drink up all the antioxidants in this yum-ilcious smoothie. 

To make: 

Place the following in a blender: 
-1/2 Cup of Blume Wild Blueberry
-3/4 C of Frozen Blueberries
-1/4 Cup of plain yogurt
-1/2 tsp of Bee Pollen (the velvety soft kind)

Blend to your desired texture and enjoy! 

Makes 1 Serving

 Blume's Hot Toddy

Blume's Hottest Toddy

This is the easiest hot idea EVER. 

To make: 
Put 10 oz of Blume Vanilla Citrus in a pan, add 4 tsp fresh Lemon Juice. Heat to simmer or steaming. Pour in a cup. Add 1 oz of Bulleit Bourbon to each cup and stir with a Cinnamon Stick. 

Garnish:
You can use lemon, orange wedges, cinnamon stick or star anise. 

Makes 2 servings depending on glass size. 

 
 Blume's Winter Smoothie

The Blume Blueberry Protein Bowl

Hello New Year + New You! This will surely help you accomplish your new workout routines! Thanks to @dashafitness for creating this beautiful recipe and photo. Check out her fantastic instagram page! 

To make: 

- 1/2 cup (~1/2 bottle) Blume Wild Blueberry
- 1 small frozen banana
- 1 frozen acai packet (or 1/2 cup-1 frozen berries)
- 2-3 ice cubes
-add a scoop of your favorite protein powder (I used FitCrunch Cinnamon Swirl)

Place all ingredients into a blender. Scoop the thick smoothie into a bowl and decorate with your favorite toppings.

Makes 1 Serving

 
 Bubbly Blume Champagne Cocktail

Blume's Buzzy Bubbly Cocktail

Your friends will be abuzz about this holiday hit and we love how the champagne bubbles sound like buzzy bees. :)

To make: Put 3-4 Tbsp chilled Blume Wild Blueberry reduction into a champagne glass. Gently pour white or pink champagne (prosecco is fine too) into a tilted glass to keep the reduction layer at the bottom undisturbed. 

To make the reduction: Simmer 10 oz. Blume Wild Blueberry in a pan until it is reduced down to approx. 1/4 of the water content. Add 1 Tbsp of honey to the gently cooled reduction. Refrigerate until ready to use. You can make up to two days ahead. Each bottle yields about 4-5 Tbsps of the reduction.

The Blume Healthy Honey Cosmo

Who doesn’t love cranberries and their rich jewel tones at Thanksgiving? After one sip of this healthy cocktail, it could become your next holiday classic! 

To make:
- 6 oz. Blume Vanilla Citrus
- 2 oz. unsweetened cranberry juice
- 4 oz.  Bar Hill Vodka (made with honey!) 
- 1 to 1/2 tsp of Cointreau (optional if you prefer your drinks on the sweeter side.)

Pour all chilled ingredients into a cocktail shaker and serve very cold. Garnish with cranberries or a sprig of rosemary. 

Makes 2-3 servings depending on the glass size.

 Blume's Hairy Eyeball Cocktail

The Blume Hairy Eye Ball Cocktail

This is the perfect Halloween Party conversation starter. To start the chatter see Blume Bee Secrets #32.

To make: 

- 8 oz. Blume Vanilla Citrus
- 2 shots Deaths Door Gin
- 2 Tbsp of Soho Lychee Liquor

Pour all chilled ingredients into a cocktail shaker and mix. Divide liquid into 2 martini glasses. Place Eyeball Garnish in glasses.

Eyeball Garnish: Use canned lychees for the eyeball and place fresh blueberries or cranberries in the pit cavity for the pupil.

Makes 2 serving
Serve very cold

 
  Blume Blueberry Margarita

Blume Blueberry Margarita

- 6 oz. Wild Blueberry Blume
- 2 oz. Casamigos Tequila Blanco
- 1.5 Tsp Cointreau
- Lime slices
- Granulated Honey
- Margarita Salt

For the Margarita:
Shake Wild Blueberry Blume, Tequila,Cointreau in a chilled cocktail shaker.

To dress the glass:
Mix 2/3 Granulated Honey with 1/3 Margarita salt. Spread on a flat or slightly curved surface. Wipe a lime slice around the glass and turn glass upside-down into the mixture. Twist to coat the rim. Pour Blume Blueberry Margarita mixture into the dressed glass and garnish with lime slice.

Serve very cold. Makes 1 serving.

 Blume Cocktail

The Zesty Mule

Created for Pittsburgh Earth Day by mixologist Spencer Warren. 
 
2 oz. Blume Ginger Zest
2 oz. Boyd & Blair Vodka
- .75 oz. fresh lime juice
- .5 oz. ginger syrup
- Shake all ingredients
- Pour over ice
- Top with ginger beer

The Blume Beekeper

- 4 oz. of Blume Vanilla Citrus
- 1 oz. Gin (we like a very juniper-y gin, like St. George)
- 3-4 dashes Aromatic Bitters (5 by 5's was smashing in this mix)

Mix Blume Vanilla Citrus, gin, and aromatic bitter in a small shaker. Pour into a low-ball glass with a single ice sphere. Flame an orange peel for that smoky beekeeper effect, and wipe the glass rim with the peel. Makes 3-4 depending on glass size. Bee-ware, they go down smoothly!

 

BeeKindGarden Cocktail

Any edible flower from your garden is the crown jewel of this Springtime Sipper. Let the whole effect of this little elixir drift you off to a dreamy spring garden....

To make, mix:

- 6 oz. of Blume Vanilla Citrus
- 1 tbsp. of Apricot Juice
- 1 oz. Vodka
- 4 drops of Crude Bitters, Hibiscus, Lavender, Oak
-Garnish with your favorite edible flower.

A twist of meyer lemon zest over the glass just before serving is optional. 

Serve very cold. Makes 1 Serving.

 

The Blume
September Soother

Mix equal parts Blume Honey Water Wild Blueberry, club soda and lemonade. Add vodka to taste. Garnish with fresh mint. Enjoy

 

The "Full Blume"

Whether gathering friends 'round the tree or ringing in the New Year, this lovely libation celebrates that we #liveinfullblume together. The edible hybiscus flower is the dressy piece-de-resistance!

To make: Use 1/3 Vanilla Citrus Blume Honey Water (very chilled) to 2/3 Rose Prosecco, and drop in an edible hybiscus flower.  Hybiscus flowers are available in stores around the U.S. or special order from The Wild Flower Hybiscus Co.

Blume's Green Ginger Goddess

- 1 bottle of Ginger Zest
- 1 cup packed fresh spinach
- 7 frozen peach slices
- 4 frozen mango chunks
- 4 frozen banana slices

Place all ingredients in a blender and mix until smooth.

Yields approx 2 cups Garnish with mint or basil and ENJOY!
